Comments to the TRAI for the, "Consultation Paper on Regulatory Framework for Promoting Data Economy Through Establishment of Data Centres, Content Delivery Networks, and Interconnect Exchanges"

IFF responded to TRAI’s consultation paper which sought the establishment of Data Centres, Content Delivery Networks, and Interconnect Exchanges. We submitted our comments as obvious issues of innovation that serve users, net neutrality and data protection emerge for consideration.

TRAI’s final roadmap for connectivity and broadband access is a mixed bag #AccessToInternet

After multiple rounds of consultation, the TRAI released its final recommendations on the Roadmap to promote broadband connectivity and enhanced broadband speed. Some of the recommendations we had made during the consultations were reflected in the final report, albeit with certain modifications.

We were alarmed by a recent report that the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) is citing fiscal constraints in establishing a Multi Stakeholder Body (MSB). We wrote to the DoT, pressing for transparency and enforcement of net neutrality.

On the need for citizen oriented growth in the telecom sector

IFF submitted comments to TRAI's Supplementary Consultation Paper on Roadmap to Promote Broadband Connectivity and Enhanced Broadband Speed. Here, we highlighted the need for direct performance based incentives and about issues with public wifi networks that must be addressed.
